Google will launch the Pixel 9 series globally on August 13th, but here in India, the lineup will debut on August 14th. All four Pixel 9 family members are highly anticipated to launch in the Indian market and will be available to purchase on Flipkart.
Google Pixel 9 series prices in India (expected)
A recent leak suggests that the Google Pixel 9 series will be more expensive than the previous generation models. As per it, the Pixel 9 Pro will start at $999.99 (Approx. Rs 84,000) and the Pixel 9 Pro XL (256GB) will retail at a starting price of $1,199.99 (Approx. Rs 1,01,000).
Meanwhile, the vanilla Pixel 9 could cost anywhere between $650 to $700 (Approx. Rs 59,000). Moreover, we exclusively learned that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will come in two variants: 256GB priced at $1,799 (Approx. Rs 1,51,000) and 512GB priced at $1,919 (Approx. Rs 1,61,000).

Besides the pricing details, the leaks also revealed a fair bit of specifications and features of the Pixel 9 family. Moreover, all the Pixel 9 series phones will get seven years of Feature Drops, just like the Pixel 8 lineup. Here’s everything we know about the Pixel 9 series specifications:
Google Pixel 9
While not much is known about the vanilla Pixel 9 in terms of hardware configuration, we know that the Pixel 9 will come with a 6.3-inch Autua display. Powered by Tensor G4 chip, the device will ship with up to 12GB RAM. There will be a 10.5MP front camera and at the back, it will feature a 50MP primary shooter and a 48MP ultrawide lens.
Google Pixel 9 Pro
With the Pixel 9 Pro, you will get a 6.34-inch screen that supports a 1,280 x 2,856 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 494ppi, and 2,050 nits brightness. At the heart of the device will be the Tensor G4 chipset paired with the Titan M2 security chip.
A 4,600mAh battery will keep the lights on and 30W charging support will power the package. It will come with at least 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The Google Pixel 9 Pro will house a triple camera setup at the back, including a 50MP primary sensor, 50MP ultrawide lens, and 50MP telephoto shooter. For selfies, there will be a 50MP snapper.
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL will boost a 6.73-inch OLED panel with a 1,344 x 2,992 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 487ppi, 2,050 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Powering the device will be a Tensor G4 SoC with Titan M2 security chip.
Under the hood, it will pack a 5,050mAh battery with 30W charging support. It will ship with at least 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. For photography, the device will feature a 50MP front camera and a triple rear camera setup, housing a 50MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP telephoto sensors.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will flaunt an 8-inch Super Actua main display and a 6.3-inch Actua cover screen. It will draw power from the Tensor G4 chip paired with Titan M2 security chip and up to 16GB RAM.
Google Pixel 9 series: what are the upgrades?
When compared with the Google Pixel 8 series, the upcoming Pixel 9 lineup will bring considerable upgrades in the hardware specifications department. Be it the newer Tensor G4 processor or the upgraded 50MP front camera than the Pixel 8’s Tensor G3 SoC and 10.5MP selfie shooter, the Pixel 9 series has much more to offer than the Pixel 8 series.
It’s also highly likely that Google will bring new AI features with the Pixel 9 series. While the Pixel 9 series may not run on Android 15 out of the box, it will likely get the latest version of Android shortly after its release. The lineup will get at least two new AI tools: Pixel Screenshots and Add Me.
With the Pixel Screenshots, you can create searchable screenshots with the ability to converse with an AI chatbot to find what you’re searching for. The Add Me feature lets you merge two photos into one using AI, making it a perfect tool for combining multiple group photos into one, so no one is left out of the picture.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2
It's been two years since Google launched the original Pixel Buds Pro, and while ZDNET found them rich in sound and stylish by design, they're due for an upgrade. A recent Android Headlines post points to a revamped set of Pixel earbuds with a similar two-toned aesthetic as the originals but larger speaker grills and wing tips.
In the shared images, there are four colors and shades available for the Pixel Buds Pro 2: charcoal, porcelain, mint, and rose. All of these come encased in the familiar egg-shaped charging cradle. The cradle comes with what looks like an LED indicator on top, perhaps for pairing and battery status, but on the bottom should be just a discreet USB-C port.
Having a larger model available in the wearable line would offer customers a choice of either a 41mm or 45mm option and help Google grow the number of wearable users. As a case in point, ZDNET's Matthew Miller tried both the original and second-generation model of the Pixel Watch, and the smaller, tighter fit was always one reason he couldn't make the switch.
It would also make sense for Google to pack a bigger battery into the Pixel Watch 3 XL, though size doesn't often correlate to endurance if the display sips more power. Lastly, new FCC listings reveal the Pixel Watch 3 supports ultra-wideband (UWB), a key to features such as Find My Device tracking.
